Dacă G este centrul de greutate al triunghiului ABC, atunci avem relația:

O este un punct oarecare din plan, pentru care stabilim:

Înlocuim:
[tex]\overrightarrow{GO} + \overrightarrow{OA} + \overrightarrow{GO} + \overrightarrow{OB} + \overrightarrow{GO} + \overrightarrow{OC} = 0[/tex]
De unde:
[tex]3\overrightarrow{GO} + \overrightarrow{OA} +\overrightarrow{OB} + \overrightarrow{OC} = 0[/tex]
[tex]\overrightarrow{OA} +\overrightarrow{OB} + \overrightarrow{OC} = -3\overrightarrow{GO}[/tex]
